Our Nation’s Moral Decline

NCrestroomWhat’s Really Going On

The cultural conflict between traditional values and that of the LGBT community continues to intensify. Recent events in North Carolina certainly bring attention on a national level to how rapidly our nation’s moral values are changing and the extent to which the debate has entered the public square. A number of states and cities have already capitulated to the demands of the “transgender” community to have open access to public bathroom, showers, and locker rooms.

This issue has caused those who hold to a traditional value system to recoil and seek legislative remedies to protect the privacy and safety of women and girls from sexual predators.

What’s happening in North Carolina is very instructive, and it reveals the extent to which the left in America has been successful in advancing a moral shift in our nation’s values. What North Carolina showed the nation was that many of the major institutions that influence and reinforce our national values are standing publicly in support of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Laws (SOGI ) laws. These institutions are academia (the education community), the business community, major media, government, and in far more instances than not, mainline churches, and finally, to my dismay, the family. Pressure is being forced on the moral, but often times, silent majority to dump their God-directed beliefs and embrace a human secular values system devoid of God. If we don’t push back against this orchestrated effort to forever change America, we will by silence support the change.

“What one generation would resist, but eventually accept, the next generation will accept it because their parents did, and the next generation would just operate under the assumption that it always been that way.” Woodrow Wilson

Ryan T. Anderson of The Heritage Foundation says, “SOGI laws are neither necessary nor cost-free. They threaten fundamental First Amendment rights. They create new, subjective protected classes that will expose citizens to unwarranted liability.” The dangers of these laws go far beyond the threat to girls and women. Anderson adds that these laws “would further weaken the marriage culture and the freedom of citizens and their associations to affirm their religious or moral convictions, such as that marriage is the union of one man and one woman and that maleness and femaleness are not arbitrary constructs but objective ways of being human.”

In a position statement on this issue titled, “Gender Ideology Harms Children,” the American College of Pediatricians said, “A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking.” Their statement further identifies that that confused thinking is a mental disorder. “Gender dysphoria (GD), formerly listed as Gender Identity Disorder (GID), is a recognized mental disorder in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-V).”

So the question that we all should be asking is, what are our legislators doing by passing laws that expose our little girls and women to those suffering from a mental illness? Not to mention the exposure they will have with those who have maliciously perverted intentions in their newfound access to showers with girls.

As salt-and-light agents of the kingdom of God, Christians ought to stand and push back against the moral decadence being forced upon us by the homosexual community and the progressives inside our government. Their aim is clear to “fundamentally change” our nation into a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah through embracing a “doctrines of demons.”

Christian leadership in this most crucial time are watchmen on the wall. We cannot — no, we must not — hide in our churches and watch in fear as Satan and his minions run unfettered over our Judeo-Christian heritage. The time for action is now!

  1. The best way to fight this is to not spend money on institutions that promote this. Stop accepting federal money for education insist that the federal government stay out of states rights issues. stop spending money in stores and clubs that allow this. Create private institutions that screen out those individuals that promote this kind of evil. Start carrying guns where ever you go. Teach your children gun safety. Protect yourself and read your bible be ready to defend yourself on any front both physically and mentally and spiritually.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said much the same — that silence in the face of evil is itself evil.
