Star Parker: From Welfare Dependence to Welfare Reform Advocate

Star Parker, founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, recently attended the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Florida.

Radio show host Eric Metaxas interviewed her at the convention, where she talked about developing inner-cities and market-based solutions to fight poverty.

Star briefly spoke about her personal story — being on welfare, eventually escaping from the welfare system, becoming a Christian, and advocating for welfare reform. Her segment begins at 10:45.
