Governor Bobby Jindal recently ended his state Medicaid program’s contract with Planned Parenthood. Yesterday, New Hampshire’s executive council did the same, over the pro-abortion governor’s objections.
Alabama just joined what pro-lifers hope will be a long list of states that block tax dollars from funding the “non-profit” abortion mill. From the Daily Caller:
“The deplorable practices at Planned Parenthood have been exposed to Americans, and I have decided to stop any association with the organization in Alabama,” said [Governor Robert] Bentley in a statement. “As a doctor and Alabama’s Governor, the issue of human life, from conception to birth and beyond, is extremely important to me. I respect human life, and I do not want Alabama to be associated with an organization that does not.”
In addition to Bentley’s actions, Alabama’s Senate also advanced a measure Thursday that would make it a felony to give or receive any money in return for fetal tissue.
Other states have defunded Planned Parenthood before the undercover video scandal. The baby-part selling is just one more reason to stop taxpayers’ dollars from going to these clinics. The main reason is that pro-life taxpayers should not be forced to give their money to places that snuff out unborn life, especially those babies who die for the sake of convenience.
