Violation: This Is What the Obama Administration Is Attempting to Do Now

surgeryLiberals might be shocked to learn that some doctors don’t want to mutilate people who want to pretend to be the opposite sex.

Five states and three religious organizations representing doctors filed a lawsuit (PDF) on Tuesday against the Obama administration over a new regulation they believe would force doctors to do “sex change” or “reassignment” operations. Of course, mutilating an individual’s sex organs doesn’t change the person’s sex.

From the complaint (emphasis added):

“On pain of significant financial liability, the Regulation forces doctors to perform controversial and sometimes harmful medical procedures ostensibly designed to permanently change an individual’s sex—including the sex of children. Under the new Regulation, a doctor must perform these procedures even when they are contrary to the doctor’s medical judgment and could result in significant, long-term medical harm. Thus, the Regulation represents a radical invasion of the federal bureaucracy into a doctor’s medical judgment.

“HHS attempts to impose these dramatic new requirements by redefining a single word used in the Affordable Care Act: ‘sex.’ For decades, across multiple federal statutes, Congress has consistently used the term ‘sex’ to refer to an individual’s status as male or female, as determined by a person’s biological sex at birth. But in the Regulation, HHS redefines ‘sex’ to include ‘an individual’s internal sense of gender, which may be male, female, neither, or a combination of male and female, and which may be different from an individual’s sex assigned at birth.’ 45 C.F.R. § 92.4. Thus, with a single stroke of the pen, HHS has created a massive new liability for thousands of healthcare professionals unless they cast aside their medical judgment and perform controversial and even harmful medical transition procedures.”

Awful. The homosexual lobby claims the rule obliges doctors only to “treat all patients, including trans patients, with dignity and respect and to make treatment decisions free from bias…If a doctor has a sound, evidence-based, medical reason to delay transition care for a specific patient, that would be respected under the regulations.”

Remember when homosexuals said their “marriages” wouldn’t be an imposition on people who opposed the redefining of marriage? Now they’re using government power to force Christian bakers to make “wedding” cakes, inventing “rights” for men pretending to be women to violate the privacy and risk the safety of women and girls, and stifling dissent.

Aside from that, doctors should be allowed to refuse these surgeries without penalty even if there is such a thing as a “sound, evidence-based, medical reason,” just as they can refuse to kill unborn babies.

The homosexual agenda affects everyone who opposes the lifestyle, especially Christians.
