Conservative groups sent President Donald Trump a letter praising Steve Bannon, former White House chief strategist, and counselor Kellyanne Conway.
Ken Blackwell, former Trump transition team member and presently a member of the voting ethics committee, was one of the people who signed that letter. He appeared on Fox News to talk about what it means.
The letter made a case for two allies, Blackwell said, who’ve been with President Donald Trump through “thick and thin.”
Bannon and others serve at the president’s pleasure, he added, and President Trump has to make sure he has the right people in place to carry out his agenda.
“Steve Bannon has made it very clear that he’s an ally of the president, and he’s going to be working towards making sure that the president’s agenda is carried forward with…an organized base of support outside the White House.”
But the host said Bannon implied the opposite is true — that he no longer supports President Trump. What’s the truth? Listen to the brief clip:
