Ryan Bomberger: Welcome to the Back Alley 2.0

“We won’t go back! We won’t go back!” That’s been the anthem cry of the pro-abortion movement as they wave hangers and cheering (dis)empowerment. Planned Parenthood debunked its own hanger myth back in 1959, saying: “In 1957, there were only 260 deaths in the whole country attributed to abortions of any kind…Call them what you will abortionists or anything else, they are still physicians. They must do a pretty good job if the death rate is as low as it is.”

Today, we’re told the “patriarchy” is trying to deprive women of their “equality.” In my lectures, college students accuse “toxic masculinity” of denying women their “autonomy.” (No one will care about your autonomy if they don’t first recognize your humanity.) Men are excoriated by the rabidly pro-abortion Left if they dare to speak out against abortion. “No uterus! No say!” Boy, that mantra didn’t age well. Anyone can be a “uterus-haver” these days. What about women who have had hysterectomies? They no longer have a voice? Fifty years ago, seven men in black robes gave us the violence of Roe. Their voices and lethal opinions are celebrated by that same Left.

Abortion is toxic masculinity. Abolition is compassionate masculinity.

It’s why, as an adoptee and adoptive father, I’ll keep fighting to protect the most vulnerable. I’ll keep working with thousands of pregnancy centers that care for mother, father and child (born and unborn). I’ll keep reminding men that their silence only allows evil to flourish. Don’t let fake feminists gender-shame you.

It was a joy to march, recently, with massive numbers of pro-life Americans at the March for Life and celebrate the overturning of Roe. Men and women, boys and girls, old and young, marched by the tens of thousands (reportedly 100,000) to be a witness to the world that we know that this fight will never truly be over. As long as humankind exists, abortion profiteers will figure out how to keep the revenue rolling in. They’re literally rolling around the country, now, in RVs to bring abortion to the borders of states that have rightfully criminalized the violent act. Planned Parenthood’s new RVs apparently stand for Roving Violence. Funny. They’ve never sent out mobile units to provide prenatal care or bring financial or material assistance to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Life doesn’t fatten their bottom line. Death does.

Abortion isn’t empowerment. It’s exploitation on a tragically grand commercial scale. And Corporate America is joining in on the disempowerment with its funding of out-of-state abortion trafficking. “Abortion on demand and without apology” is not merely a rallying cry, it’s mainstream culture. It’s the defining DNA of the Democratic Party. It’s the unapologetic activism of the news media. It’s the crusade now culminating on our street corners in places that are supposed to be bringing well-being, not causing dead human beings.

The back alley never left. It just opened its storefront doors in 1973. And now, Walgreens and CVS have signaled that their doors are open for abortion business too. Your local pharmacy will now become your local abortion drug dealer. Nothing says real healthcare like a dangerous DIY abortion. I thought the back alley pro-abortion activists mythologized for so long – women being left to themselves and acting in desperation to end their pregnancies – was an evil to avoid.

Sadly, many don’t distinguish between being empowered and being fooled by those in power.

The national wound of abortion — 64 million lives deep — can never be healed by hucksters offering their latest pink bandages of fake feminism. It can only be healed by a renewing of our hearts and minds. That takes time, and every moment is worth the sacrifice. We won’t go back to a nation shackled by the injustice of abortion. We must move forward into a new era where every human being has the God-given right to life.

  1. God Bless you, good sir and father. I am actively involved in RTL Sanilac County MI and support Spero Pregnancy Center in Port Huron, MI. Sadly, MI via Prop 3 passage that we fought tooth and nail to defeat, is now a pro-death state on par with CA, NY, N Korea, China/CCP, and others. Massive out state money came against us from CA, NY, Soros, and others. But, we will NOT be daunted or be silent. Pro-Life is turning hearts and minds. I know it. I feel it. I pray for it every day. God says we must STOP killing his most vulnerable and maiming via gender surgeries, his minors. I leave with a qoute from St Catherine of Siena: “Speak the Truth in a million voices. It is silence that kills.”
